TOTA is a completely independent agency. We have access to hundreds of different private and public insurance options and programs, but we are beholden to none of them. This enables us to tailor a specific insurance program for each individual client, based solely on the priorities of that client. And there are no fees for working with TOTA, at any point in time. Our fees are paid by the insurance companies. Yet you get the same rate as if you went directly to those companies – without having all the different options available to you that we can provide.

TOTA was founded by Harry Perret in 2005, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. A native New Orleanian, Harry witnessed not only the devastation of the levee failures, but also the devastation so many people, families and businesses experienced due to inadequate insurance protection. Harry and his wife moved to Nashville after the storm, where they had first met in 1987, and Harry immediately committed himself to serving his new community.

“I never want to see another person go through a serious hardship and then see the situation made worse because they did not have the insurance they needed,” says Harry. “My only professional goal is to help every one of our clients obtain the most complete protection they can afford.”

TOTA represents every Medicare carrier in Tennessee. Equally important, we are familiar with every state and federal program related to insurance needs, and have a thorough knowledge of all the complexities of Medicare, including new, open and special enrollments. Harry maintains the annually-required “American Health Insurance Plans” certification from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, along with certifications from every individual insurance carrier TOTA represents. The hundreds of hours he spends studying for these certifications keeps his knowledge current and builds his expertise every year.
